So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

What Car Parts Are Required

By Adele Maor

They are a fact of life these days. Cars have become an essential part of our way of thinking, working, and living. As a result, car parts have become a necessity. Regardless of the number of wheels you have on your vehicle you will find that parts are going to be required. Cart parts keep us going and we simply cannot live without them.

Where would you be without car parts? You would be at home of course. Before the invention of the automobile people lived and worked in close proximity, mostly because they had to. It simply was not possible to live miles and miles from the place where you earned your paycheck. You had to be close to all the things you needed, or at least you needed to be close to the places where you could obtain the essentials.

After the automobile became a mainstay in America and in other countries around the world, the ability to move out of the city and out from underneath the daily grind became more of a reality. Suburbs sprang up as people now had the ability to commute in to work using their automobile.

Indeed cars changed the way we live, the way we work, and the way we play. Vacations to the beach for those that lived hundreds of miles away were now possible. You could get to grandma's house and back in a reasonable amount of time. You could buy groceries for a week instead of a month or more. The automobile changed our lives in a very real and profound way.

But with the yin comes the yang as is the case with most everything. As great as cars were back then, the completely new problem of maintaining the machine that makes them go became a reality, and often times an unexpected one. If your car didn't start you could not make it to work easily or even at all, or maybe the family trip got canceled or cut short as a result of a broken automobile.

While some aspects of an automobile essentially last forever, other parts are simply going to break down over time and with heavy or in some cases even infrequent use. The cost of replacing these broken things should be considered when making a vehicle purchase because parts for some cars cost more than parts for other cars. Replacing parts on a luxury vehicle will generally be more expensive than replacing those on a car with a smaller price tag.

Thankfully the need for parts breed a number of ways to access them. Dealerships, junkyards, auto shops and specialty vendors each provide ways to obtain the parts you need. Buying parts on your own and installing them yourself is typically the least expensive, but there are times when a profession mechanic will be needed, and while they cost more your down time is lessened and the job is usually done right.

Either way you go, the fact is that you cannot go anywhere without car parts. You can pay someone to install them or you can do the work yourself in many cases, but it is work that must be done by someone to keep you moving. Cars and car parts have certainly changed the way we live and will be a factor far in to the future.
