So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Purchasing A Professional Digital Camcorder

By Caleb Moll

Professional digital camcorders create beautiful, high quality images that can instantly be shared via the internet, through email, or on disc. Other features that come standard with a quality professional digital camcorder include zoom features, excellent sound quality and high-resolution imaging. Another feature to look for in these camcorders is the ability to take still photos as well as film so you do not have to purchase two cameras.

The best brands for professional digital camcorders are Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, and Canon. You can pick from a wide variety of camcorders that capture their video in different formats with these brands of camcorders. The most popular recording format is Mini-DV. Part of the reason they are so popular is that the smaller tapes they use are generally a lot cheaper than tapes used for other formats. It is important to know that you get what you pay for with camcorders, so the more features offered by a particular model, the more it's going to cost you. You should expect to budget well over $1,000 for a decent professional quality camcorder.

If you are looking for a model that is very easy and convenient to use, look into DVD style camcorders. You can get a DVD camcorder that takes either DVD-RW or DVD-R disks, allowing you to play in right away on a DVD player that is compatible with these popular formats. Of the two formats, the DVD-RW disks will cost you more.

While there are a lot of different choices, the best way to narrow all those options down is to make a list of what you need the camcorder to do. Zoom will be very important if you're intending to film anything from a distance. You should choose optical zoom, if the choice between digital and optical zoom comes up. Digital zoom will, unfortunately, decrease in resolution the farther out you zoom; optical zoom won't encounter this problem, so it will work much better for you.

You should also consider the amount of extra costs associated with each professional digital camcorder, such as disks or tapes. Optical zoom will add quite a bit to the cost of your camcorder. Lastly, choose a camcorder that provides you with all the features that you need and avoid paying for the features that you will never use.
