So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Reasons Why Nile Cruises Are So Popular

By Amanda Chalmers

The Nile river which is home to the famous Nile Cruises spans more than six thousand miles. Alongside each side of the river is landscape that draws visitors from all over the world to see and enjoy. Such is the history of this area that it seems to have been untouched over many years.

Since 3200 B. C. The natives of the country would sail their boats on the river. Europeans would later tour through the land on houseboats known as dahabiya. Each of these boats would be staffed with a cook, interpreter who was known as a dragoman, a few sailors and a waiter.

During the boat rides, people get to tour temples and tombs. The river is often crowded with barges that transport passengers. A more popular way to travel is in a dahabiya which is fitted with modern conveniences.

Visitors are able to take luxury cruises that encompass the palaces, temples, tombs, ruins and the history of the country. The sound and light show at the Karnak Temple is said to be a great way to enjoy the splendid architecture of the area. One of the best preserved temples is the Temple of Horus and this is to be found nearby Esa and Edfu.

Boat trips start and end from Aswan, the ideal town for this purpose. It has a breathtaking landscape and one can watch amazing sunsets from this spot. The tours have become very popular during holidays, festivals and for commerce.

The trips on the boat are five star due to the personal attention and luxury that is to be enjoyed on the boats. Families and elderly people alike will enjoy this trip. The boats include a formal atmosphere and the cabins are luxurious resulting in a deluxe five star event. Some of the affairs on the Nile Cruises dictate that people dress semi smart. On the premier boats there is room service and often black tie events for adults to enjoy.
