So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Spend St. Patrick's Day in Montreal this Year

By Chris Brown

Montreal celebrates St. Patrick's Day in a very competitive fashion. Over half a million people are predicted to hit the streets of Montreal and party way into the night. There's a load of festivities going on, just keep reading to find out the best way to take advantage of late holidays to Montreal.

Every year St Patrick's Day is famously celebrated in Ireland, but you may be surprised to hear that one of the biggest parades in the world has actually been running half way around the globe in Montreal since 1824. In nearly 200 years the annual show has been uninterrupted, even in years when the weather has been so bad that snow storms have threatened the event.

Cheap holidays are easy to organise from your British base, all you need to do is have a little look online. This year over 4000 people are supposed to make up the precession and everyone is welcomed and encouraged to join in. The parade lasts around three hours but with those marching bands getting the party started, spirits are guaranteed to remain high well into the evening and bars will be crowded, with people spilling out into the streets through the night.

The key to making late holidays as luxurious as possible can be to splash out on long-haul flights to gorgeous locations such as Canada but save money by staying in low cost hotels. After all, with so much to do and see, you only really need a hotel to act as a base for exploring. Hotel le Saint Andre is a very central hotel in Montreal and a great option for anyone planning on spending their holiday out and about in the city - especially as it has free parking; perfect for those hiring a car for their trip. It's close to the library, Notre Dame de Bonsecours Chapel and Bonsecours Market. Breakfast is included so fill up in the morning and you won't need to spend a fortune on lunches out.

With St. Patrick's Day just around the corner there hasn't been a better time to take advantage of the cheap holiday deals to the city
