So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Introduction of Muslim Clothes

As in all components of life, Islam as well gives guidance concerning clothing for Muslims. Although Islam does not prescribe any distinctive model or type of apparel or attire, it stresses while in the principles of modesty and decency. Islamic law prohibits people from displaying wealth and beauty, and encourages the maintenance a regular of decorum, dignity and modesty.

Attire for Muslims: The Requirements

Attire for Muslims has certain basic requirements which must be followed:

1. Body parts to be covered: For girl, the full shape have to be covered, specially the bosom, although they can leave their face/eyes and hand uncovered. For men the shape have to be covered from the navel to the knee.

2. Looseness: The attire must be loose and not shape hugging or skin tight for both men and woman. This is why both men and woman wear loose fitting robe like apparel over their ordinary attire when in to public.

3. Altogether look decent without having to flashy: Clothes have to be decent and clean, and should not be flashy. It have to give the appearance of dignity and modesty. The clothing should not be worn in to order to gain the admiration of others.

4. Do not imitate others: Islam encourages its people to be proud of their faith. They have to gaze like Muslims without having to imitate people of other faith or cultures around them. Woman must be proud of their femininity without having to attempt to outfit like men and vice versa.

The Different Types of Apparel for Muslims

Here are several for the different types of clothes for Muslims:

1. The Thobe: This is a long, loose, streaming robe worn by men. It's sewed like a shirt and reaches down to the ankle. Although it's typically white towards color, it is obtainable into other colors as well, specifically during the winters.

2. The Bisht: This is a cloak sometimes worn by men over a thobe. Generally, it's the religious leaders and high level government officials who wear these.

3. The Ihram: This is a type of clothing that pilgrims wear when they are on pilgrimage to the Hajj. It is composed of the izar, which falls from the waist to the ankle, plus the reda, which handles the upper body and also the shoulders.

4. The Shalwar Kameez: This is worn by both men and woman and essentially is composed of a long tunic paired with loose trousers. Woman may also team this having a dupatta, which is a length of fabric which handles the bosom and definitely will as well be used as a veil.

5. The Abaya: These are worn by woman and are often dark colored towards color. The fabric extends from the head to the toe. They are quite funky among female on the Gulf countries.
