So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Autumn in Your Home: Decorating with Nature's Own Splendor Can be Inexpensive and Fun

By Adam Ciboch

Fall comes with it images of splendor, splashes of vibrant colors on trees and the comfort of long-sleeved jackets to fend off the brisk air that promises increasingly colder days. It also presents a prime opportunity for creativity in the realm of your home. Decoration tips for Fall need not even be costly. Check out these inexpensive tips for decorating your home, and you'll soon want to spend as much time indoors as you do outside.

First, inexpensive doesn't necessarily have to mean plastic. Why buy something fake when you can purchase the real deal for next to nothing itself? Miniature pumpkins and gourds can be purchased generally for under $5 no matter where you live. You can usually even find them in a set so you don't have to buy individually. These wonderfully colorful items make great centerpieces on tables, countertops and shelves, not to mention window ledges. They provide a rustic, yet homey feel that's perfect for Fall.

The same can be said about multi-colored leaves. And, of all your Fall decoration choices, these ones might be the only that are absolutely free. All you need to do is pick out a few samples from your backyard. The largest problem you'll come across with leaves is that they tend to dry quick and curl after they've fallen from trees. All you need is a little moisturizer to rub on each leaf's front and back and someplace dry to set it and this problem can be avoided. Expect to see brilliantly vibrant colors during the entire time you use them in your home if you follow this simple preservation method. You can add some additional color to the centerpiece you've already made by incorporating the leaves into an arrangement around it, as well. If you have a fireplace, this is also a good place to scatter leaves. If you want to add even more authenticity to your home, try adding tree branches.

Consider purchasing a few more cute and tiny pumpkins if you're a Halloween lover who wants a little more ambiance as October 31 approaches. Carve out a hole at the top with a small knife so some inexpensive black candles can be placed in their centers. There you are! Once the lights are turned off and they're lit, you've got yourself a hand-made candle-holder that's sure to set the mood.

All of these ways to liven up your home to celebrate the Fall season and its holidays are either inexpensive or entirely free. Without even breaking the bank, you'll be sure to make a setting that is effectively ambient, all by implementing nature's own seasonally colorful creations to decorate your own home.
