So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Holiday Vacation In Amsterdam City Of Tulips And Canals

By Amor Holtier

A holiday vacation in Amsterdam is an opportunity to visit one of the most enchanting holiday destinations in the world. Situated on the north eastern end of Europe, the Netherlands is a country with large parts of land below sea level. The resulting flat countryside makes cycling a preferred method of transport.

This city itself is a harmonious blend of very old and ultra modern traversed by rivers, canals, bridges and cycle paths. A person has the opportunity of exploring the city at leisure using various means of transport. Bicycle and barge rentals abound and because of the flat terrain hiking is also very popular.

With a wide range of well priced short and long term rental apartments, guests houses, inns and hotels dotted around the city tourists are catered for on every level and budgetary limitations. Easy access to all forms of entertainment, heritage sites and other places of interest will enthrall and give hours of pleasure and enjoyment.

Museums and beautifully preserved homes are filled with priceless art treasures and painting by Dutch Old Masters from bygone eras. Heritage sites tell tales of times when the Dutch sailed the seas to discover new lands spreading their culture far and wide.

Although the brewery has relocated to outer city limits people are still able to visit the original site where Heineken beer, the world's most international premium beer brand was first brewed. The Heineken museum tour is a must for beer lovers and ends with a tasting session which always proves popular.

Amsterdam and tulips have become as well known a pairing as a horse and carriage. From spring to early autumn the outskirts of the city and further afield are awash with color and perfumed flowers. The Keukenhof bulb fields are a spectacle worth visiting and thousands of visitors annually go to see fields of tulips, lilies and lilacs. Floats, made up of millions of blooms that fill the air with delightful scents, are paraded through streets in various areas throughout the summer.

This city is filled with history, bygone grandeur and modern day artistry and culture. There is much to see and a person can so at one's leisure either walking cycling or cruising along any of its many canals. Its diversity promises to delight and exploring its many charms on a holiday vacation in Amsterdam will leave a person with many fond memories of a wonderful holiday.
