So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Three Must Have Features In Any Jewelry Software

By Lauren Kay

When you begin your own bead jewelry business you will soon learn that you have to spend just as much time running your business as you do actually crafting jewelry. Sometimes the chore of making invoices, tracking inventory and adjusting pricing can actually take up so much time that you don't feel like making any jewelry by the end of the day. It's easy to get busy with the business end of running your own bead jewelry business. Most home business owners go through a period of adjustment where they ask themselves, "Why am I doing this?"

This is where a well-balanced bead jewelry software package can be helpful. There are actually many of different options you can buy when it comes to picking software to run your jewelry business, from homemade spreadsheets and pre-made databases to expensive jewelry store and software packages. Here are three basic features you'll definitely want to have in any software package you buy for your beaded jewelry business:

Inventory Control: Keeping track of your beads will also allow you to calculate material costs and labor and help you set the correct price for each beaded jewelry piece you make. One of the most challenging aspects of operating a bead jewelry business is handling the inventory. Being able to track what jewelry pieces and even what supplies you have in you inventory is an important part of any jewelry business software program.

Invoice Creation and Client Tracking: Keeping track of customers is just as important as being able to present your customers a professional receipt for their purchases. You do not want to give someone a little scrap of carbon paper with some chicken-scratch on it after they spend $50 for an impressive beaded necklace and earring set. Being able to print business-like and easy-to-read invoices helps make your handmade jewelry business look more polished. Repeat communication with your past clients is a great way to inform them about sales and new jewelry pieces you have made.

Low Cost: You don't want to pay too much and get useless features that you may never use, but you also do not want to get the cheapest jewelry software package available and find yourself wanting more quickly. If you're just beginning your jewelry business, then you should probably budget between $90 to $140 for your initial jewelry program.

Any bead software program you buy should definitely have the features above as well as many others. Do not forget that the program you get should help you operate your handmade jewelry business, increase your profit margin and ultimately give you more time to do what you love the most: creating and selling wonderful handmade jewelry!
