So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Benefits of Using Silk Bouquets in Your Wedding

By Cindy Cone

Many brides make the decision to use silk bouquets in the wedding flowers instead of real ones. There are various benefits to using artificial silk flowers in your wedding bouquet. Keep reading to learn about some of these benefits.

There are many options when using artificial flowers. Silk flowers can look exactly like real flowers. They are available all year round. Real flowers are limited in their abundance around the year so silk flowers are a great alternative.

A bouquet of real flowers needs to be treated much more gently than artificial silk flower arrangements, which are very sturdy. They are more sensitive to touch and the environmental factors, not to mention the twisting in a nervous bride's hands.

Real flowers will also break down very rapidly. This means that they have to be prepared as close to the big day as possible. Also, if the conditions are hot on your wedding day, they may wilt.

Silk bouquets can be made much in advance of the wedding and still look very fresh and gorgeous. There is no need for concern about the flowers being damaged in transit or suffering from the strains of being packed and moved around.

One of the main expenses of your wedding is buying the flowers. Real flowers can be pricey, especially if you get an exotic species. Silk arrangements are typically much cheaper, so they're a very good solution if you have a limited wedding budget.

Silk bouquets will also last forever. They can look brand new long after your wedding is over if you maintain them correctly. They'll provide you with nice memories of your special occasion. You certainly wouldn't have a bouquet of fresh flowers around still.

Some people in your wedding party may be allergic to real flowers. You certainly do not want them to be a distraction during your wedding with their fits of sneezing. If you use artificial flowers in your wedding then no one will have any allergic reactions.

One of the main benefits of using real flowers is that they produce a lovely fragrance. Silk flowers typically don't have any smell to them at all. However, you can change this by spraying a nice scent on them to give them that real flowery smell.

Finally, silk flowers are better for the environment. Fresh flowers need to be grown and harvested. Although they are biodegradable when tossed out, they typically require the use of pesticides which can harm small wildlife.

If getting married soon, silk bouquets should be assessed as a viable option. They last for a long time after the ceremony and will always be there to stimulate the memory.

Artificial silk flowers are typically less expensive too, so you can save a lot of money. You can even make them smell like real flowers if you want to.
