So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Finding Eco-Friendly Autos

By Brian Burton

The detrimental environmental impingement of our dependency on fossil fuel is there for us all to see. It's important that things start changing right away and one of the most effective ways to begin is with automobiles. As a way to address the problem with fuel emissions, auto manufacturers are setting out to make more cars that won't cause damage to the environment.

The most eco friendly car, from the wide choice available, may well be the battery powered car. The fact that the vehicle is battery powered means doesn't need for diesel or gasoline. Sounds great because it doesn't need fuel, so you can save money and it's eco-friendly which is fantastic, but there is a drawback. The auto engines themselves are somewhat limited right now but the cars are now available to the public. After a distance of around 100 miles, you have to be ready to charge the battery again.

Still one alternative available is a hybrid car. They make use of both a battery and petrol and are eco friendly. Allow me to explain how these actually work. It is the electricity coming from the battery that is utilized initially by the vehicle. The need for the gasoline comes when more power is called for at a a certain speed. The need to charge up the battery is rid of as this happens as the petrol is used.

There is also another kind of vehicles, known as plug-in hybrid vehicles. They run much in the same way as the previous hybrid car and won't harm the environment. The plug-in hybrid car does, however, need to be charged up manually whereas this is an automatic function of the regular hybrid model. Both hybrids are more economical than the normal petrol autos, though.

A great example of a hybrid vehicle that can give you 50 miles to the gallon is the Prius developed by Toyota. At a price in the region of $22,000, this Toyota hybrid has become a top seller. Honda's Insight hybrid car was the first hybrid to be sold and before Toyota arrived in the hybrid market. It helped spread awareness for hybrids and paved the way for the Prius hybrid car. The Ford Fusion Hybrid, which costs about $27,000, has gotten many awards to its name. It has been regarded as the most exceptional American hybrid car made. Mitsubishi has developed the 'i-MiEV', which features absolutely zero fuel emissions. When it comes to Japanese car makers, the i-MiEV was one of the earliest electric cars developed.

We can expect to see continued development for this kind of vehicle and numerous alternatives for customers searching for cars that are environmentally friendly.
