So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Remote Motion Sensor: A Good Way To Acquire A Motion Sensor For Your Project

By Jerry Samson

Are you looking for an outdoor motion sensor? Perhaps you need them as a replacement for a broken device such as motion sensor sprinkler, motion sensor light or motion sensor alarm. Do you have a project that needs automation which involves motion detection? If this is the case, then this is the article for you. You will learn here how and where to find these types of sensors.

Common outdoor motion sensor is readily available in the market today. You can easily find them in hardware stores in a wide variety of types and sizes. If you don't have the time to go out and actually buy them, you can just order them through the internet and it will be delivered directly in your home. Some online shops that sell them include Amazon.com and Nextag.com or if you have a limited budget you can try to bid on online auction like eBay.

Unlike the complete unit, outdoor motion sensors only are not commonly available in small electrical shops or hardware stores. So, if you need a sensor replacement for your motion activated device and you don't know where to look for then you will have a problem. Most manufacturers don't supply parts and if the sensor breaks then you have to replace the whole unit.

If you are a professional electrician or you have a good knowledge in electronics and you need outdoor motion sensors for your project, you can have them through hardware store that specializes in automation equipments. These types of sensors are commonly used in industrial manufacturing plants and are usually expensive. They are used to automate the plant and also for quality control, safety and security.

Another source of motion sensor is the commonly available motion activated devices in hardware stores. If you want to make an automatic door closer, you can just get the sensor part and use it as a trigger for the actuator you want to use to open a door. It can be a pneumatic valve if you want to use a pneumatic cylinder as the actuator, or a power relay if you want an electric motor to move a sliding door.

Sensors used in industrial plants are available in companies that specialize in automation controls. Other product they sell includes timer, counter, relay Programmable Logic Controllers and etc. Some famous brand includes Siemens, Omron and Festo. Some factors to consider when purchasing a sensor is the range, the type of input and output, and the type of object where you intend to use it.
