So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Steps In Proper Utilization Of Windshield Repair Kits

By Velma Joseph

Windshields are made of laminated safety glass. This is a type of treated glass which consists of two curved sheets of glass with a plastic layer laminated between them for safety and are glued into the window frame. These protect the occupants of a vehicle from wind and debris such as insects and dust during travel. Windshields also provide an aerodynamically formed window towards the front. When these are damaged, first aid solutions might require the help of windshield repair kits.

The process of repairs is a combination of modern technology and skills. The damaged area on windshields need special clear adhesive resin which is then exposed under ultraviolet light. If the repairs are properly done, the damaged area is restored.

Automobile windscreens have been toughened by manufacturers under extensive and tough pressures. This allows windscreens to protect as well as serve as an aerodynamically formed window towards the front of the vehicle. A small crack in a windscreen may seem insignificant but they can cause serious damage that is irreparable and will require expensive replacement.

A car owner can also opt to call for professional help and have the repairs done without the added burden of additional tasks. Remember that when self-repairing the windscreen, do the task without any exposure to sunlight. Resin will react to the slightest sunlight exposure will make the repairs look horribly performed.

Clean the damaged area of the windscreen. Using a razor blade, pick out the lose pieces of broken glass because these might throw off the process for repairs. A suction cup tool can also be used in this step. The position the suction cup tool provided by the kit. Make sure that the center is situated directly above the crack.

When the suction cup tool provided by the kit is precisely positioned above the damaged area, insert the repairing tube and screw it securely. The alignment of the tools and proper proceduring of the instructions is the key to making the repairs process a success.

Using the plunger from the kit, make sure to pressurize the resin into the damaged area. The addition of pressure allows the resin to be in the proper place and to look as neat as possible. One can detect if enough pressure is added when the plunger gets harder to screw.

The last step is to add a clear finishing film above the repaired area. Follow instructions carefully on the proper mounting of the film. The purpose of this film is to make sure that the resin is spread evenly and thinly upon the surface, making it blend in as part of the original windscreen. Windshield repair kits are one of the most effective and less costly ways of repairing and restoring windscreens.
