So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Ready Your House for Trick or Treating

By Andy Kongsri

Allow me to share a few tips on getting your house organized for Trick or Treating this Halloween

1. Because people will be coming to your front door for their Halloween treats, it is a good idea to make your home as welcoming as you can, and as safe as possible. A good idea is to make sure your porch light is on during the trick or treating hours. This enables others to feel welcome to come to your home, and the light on will create a feeling of being safe.

2. Make sure that your Halloween decorations are all ready. Trick or treaters love the idea of calling on those homes that are clearly into the Halloween spirit. There is no need to go overboard with your decorations. If you have some pumpkins scattered around, and maybe some creepy signs dotted here and there, this is what Halloween is all about.

3. Do you have pets at your house? If you have dogs for example, no matter how good they seem to be with children, make sure that they are kept away from the front door when trick or treaters call. For a start some people act nervous around dogs, so this can be a trigger for your dogs behaviour to change.

4. Having a great big candy bowl is something that you will be needing. Most trick or treaters will keeping an eye out for that candy bowl, so don't overlook the importance of the bowl. Even if you donĂ¢€™t intend being home, you can still prepare a big candy bowl. Erecting a sign that welcomes people to help themselves to your candy is one way of letting people know.

5. Be sure that the path to your front door is safe and clear. Turn off your sprinklers for the evening, and clear any stones, toys, and other items away from the walkway so trick-or-treaters will be safe as they walk up to your door. Check that the walkway is well-lit, too.
