So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Three Quality Filipino Diners in L. A.

By Ilan Gez

Filipino cuisine is one of the most varied and sundry cuisines you will ever find. The dishes in Filipino cuisine can range all the way from anything subtle and basic to elaborate and utterly developed. The cause of this is simply the proven fact that, apart from its inherent Austronesian heritage, Filipino cuisine has taken inspiration from a variety of different sources including the Hispanic culture, the Chinese culture and even the American culture.

There are many restaurants in the urban town of L. A. for people who want to sample the Filipino cuisine themselves. The following is a listing of the three best.

1. Pinoy Pinay Filipino Fast Food Restaurant:

The Pinoy Pinay Filipino Junk Food Bistro is found in Cerritos and is not just famous for its genuine Filipino dishes but also for its highly economical pricing. The food at this trattoria is completely real and authentic in nature. The best dish to try here is the dessert Halo Radiance which is made with shaved ice, condensed milk, beans and a variety of other Filipino ingredients.

2. Salakot Sizzle and Griddle Restaurant:

The Salakot Sizzle and Grill Bistro is to be found on the Beverly Boulevard and is one of the more high end Filipino bistros in the town. Furthermore, it is also one of the few restaurants in the town that offer Filipino dishes in a formal setting. Items to try here include the extremely tender crispy pata, the very savoury adobo fried rice and the luxurious pork sisig.

3. Nanay Gloria Filipino Restaurant Los Angeles:

Located on the West Church Street, Nanay Gloria is a junk food style joint that provides Filipino food that's terribly genuine and also economical in nature. The dishes to try in this Filipino bistro include the sinigang, the turo turo and the turon. The buffet in this place is surely worth trying too.
