So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Choosing Counter tops

By Julie Naput

Many people install new countertops in their home every day, but how do you know what material is best for you? There are several types of countertop materials you can choose for your home. They can range from granite, tile, marble, concrete, and in some cases wood. Each one has its benefits, cons, and characteristics. The type of countertop you choose can depend a lot on the use you will be putting on the counter.

Granite is one of the most popular type of countertop because it is so beautiful. It is also a very durable countertop material that is great in the kitchen because it can handle the abuse of a kitchen countertop. If you are looking for a durable counter that also looks great granite is the best choice for you. Marble could be a great choice too but it could be more expensive.

Tile is very popular because of the wide selection. In fact, granite even comes in tiles and is very popular because it is cheaper than granite slabs. The one downside to tile is the grout line because they are harder to keep clean and can collect bacteria, dirt and grime. You can seal the tile and grout for further protection.

The other two options are concrete and wood and they both are gaining popularity. Concrete is popular because it is easy to repair if it does crack and it is very easy to keep clean. Concrete is a unique option because it is simple and sleep, which is perfect for the modern style home. Wood countertops are not as popular as concrete and are usually made from bamboo.

You use you put on your counter can directly affect the countertop material that you choose. If you need something that is durable but will look good then granite may be the best option for you. If you are looking for something simple and sleek maybe concrete will be the best for you. The best thing you can do is shop around for the best deal and fully understand the benefits of each material.
