So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Finding Out How To Make Money with Needles and Yarn

By Paul Kunz

Once again knitted goods are fashionable and hand knitted gifts and clothing are highly sought after and this is the time to learn how to make money with knitting. Amateur knitters may find it a little harder to create a profit from their skills but experienced knitters could cash in. The more unique the item the more likely it is to sell and bring about profit.

Hand knitted goods are a great gift and an experienced knitter can soon turn a few ounces of wool into a unique shoulder bag, a trendy scarf or a cute stuffed toy. Making extra cash from a hobby that you enjoy is one way of enhancing cash flow but the goods have to be priced up properly to ensure that a decent profit is made.

If the goods are being knitted to sell then they have to be knitted well, in the main the quality of the yarn used is all important. Organic knitted garments are highly sought after and people are willing to pay more for a garment knitted in a natural yarn. If you are going to learn how to make money with knitting then certain skills are called into being, the costing has to be right to create a reasonable profit.

But it doesn't stop there, after the gift or garment has been knitted and priced then you still need to know how to make money with knitting. Try selling the hand knitted goods in an online auction or join one of the many online craft sites that let you sell for a small fee. Take a stall at a car boot sale or sell your goods at a fair or a country market.

Certain styles of knitwear are far harder to work and will bring more in the way of a financial return, jerseys worked in Aran or Fair Isle are usually good sellers. Try creating a website of your own as a base for selling the knitted goods. Knit in different types of yarn to create color and texture, make the work appealing.

To maximise the profit margins it could be a good idea to consider buying wool in larger quantities where a discount may be offered. Take a stroll around the local charity stores too, they often offer balls of wool that are sufficient to knit gifts and scarfs and that wool is far cheaper than buying new.

Many knit as a hobby but there is no reason why that hobby should not bring in some extra cash. Friends and relatives may buy bags, scarves or knitted gloves from you to give as gifts. Experienced hand knitters could try their hand at creating designer knitwear that could offer a good profit. Creating unique knitting patterns is not as hard as one would think.

Try making a variety of goods and see what sells the best, as Christmas approaches then hand knitted gifts may be good sellers. After finding your niche market then stick to it and enlarge on it by creating new designs and patterns. If bags and scarves are good sellers then try designing new and exciting patterns that will keep the customers interested.
