The sleep and nature modes are just identical. Alright, so my apartment is really !@#$ hot in Tucson, Arizona that my poor, defenseless ferret would die when the rickety window A/C went out and I was not here to turn it off, wait 30 min, and turn it back on. Two minor issues we noted are the stand being unsteady, doesn't stand well on the carpet as well as an occasional clicking sound in the oscillation mode just like an other fan. Because of the late summer season (still 100 degree) temperatures local suppliers did not have suitable air conditioner room size replacement models and GE was without parts readily available for the failed unit. I got myself this transportable so that I would not have to get a 300 pound machine and hope I did not drop it out the window.
Overall, I am happy with it - the only real reason behind the 4 star rating rather than 5 is because I was expecting more 'oomph' from the 12,000 BTU unit. After a month of use, I've become totally pleased with this unit--once we figured out a few tricks!
It feels like the same volume as an ambulance siren. They immediately sent a call tag to return the product (at their price), and rapidly issued the credit. I simply did that and turned it back on. If you need a transportable ac in an upstairs space, bearing in mind that warm air rises, you'll want to obtain a 2 hose design depending on the air conditioner room size. Within the box there's lots of various thicknesses of foam and foam tape. Then, it sounds like someone within the room rocking on an old rocking chair.
Our weather conditions are too humid and when it's 100 it does not help much. This evening I cooled my bed room from 78F to 73F within half an hour. Our A/C broke this summer and that we could not replace it immediately; this fan was ideal for cooling the house during the night and minimizing hot air throughout the day (by using the out function). It takes about thirty mins to cool an entire room. I was getting the 6K BTU design with the digital controls, however, I figured I would get something super inexpensive and when it failed I could use it like a single space cooler. This little cooler has solved my issue far better and it is quite handy, with variable speeds along with a remote control. The fans and also the oscillation work nicely, the timer feature is excellent too. In the end, room temperature comes down by "1.5 degree F" (not 10 degree F as item states), after "hours" of operating with fan on high and cold choice switched on. So they no longer have exhaust hoses for that design I purchased two years in the past.
I thought maybe this could work for me when I possess a small place. This is a very solid unit and works so smoothly and quiet.

I haven't experienced the thermostat heating from the motor. Reading the reviews, I wasn't sure what to really expect but this unit is excellent to cool off to.

I can feel the difference because of the air conditioner room size. I selected to use this piece, and even though I had been a little concerned it might cause the fan to wobble while oscillating, I've discovered that I do not need to have worried about air conditioner room size at all.
