So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

The Rich History of Renaissance Clothing

By Angela Gymmy

During the Renaissance, the wealthier and more prosperous members of a city, town or region often wore elaborate and highly-decorated renaissance clothing that was hand crafted from a variety of rich and expensive fabrics and finishes.

Now it's use has developed so much we see it everywhere we go. We see different items of high visibility clothing used by warehouse staff, car parking staff, event marshals to name just a few. In fact it seems to give its wearers an air of officialdom, whereby people will react to orders from individuals clad in high visibility gear.

In the UK the Health and Safety at Work Act requires that everyone working in dimly lit or adverse weather conditions has to wear hi vis clothing, and this is also the subject of European regulations, one of which is EN741, 2003 governing the standards needed for professional hi visibility wear. So employers are obliged to ensure that their workers are correctly kitted out in appropriate hi-vis wear to ensure they are easily seen and protected as per the 1992 Personal Protective Equipment At Work regulations.

These rules and regulations have ensured that the demand for high visibility clothing has spiralled, however the UK is not so highly regulated as France where motorists are required to keep high visibility clothing in their vehicles in case of a breakdown, and cyclists are compelled to wear it in some form at night.

This included cotton, velvet, silk and brocade. At the time, each of these was labor intensive and/or produced a great distance away from Western Europe, such as in Egypt for cotton. Rich finishes such as ribbons, seed pearls and golden / silver thread were also liberally embroidered on the Renaissance clothing of the day.

Proceeding to checkout and paying for your product is usually very straightforward and easy. This is the point where you usually plug-in your coupon code or voucher number so that you don't get charged the full amount. Most online stores use secure socket layer (SSL) encryption so that if you're paying by credit card you can rest assured that your financial information is not available to any online hackers. If the online supplier has provision for paying by Paypal (like I often do) the online transaction is redirected to an "arms length" payment processor and is guarded by a myriad of fraud and scam protection policies and procedures that Paypal have in place to protect both buyers and sellers alike. This makes for peace of mind online buying which I like and has been one of the reasons I continue to purchase many other things online as well. A few days later I get my parcel delivered straight to my door with all of the gear I purchased nicely packed and labelled. I always go over the shipping docket just to make sure I got what I ordered. I haven't been disappointed yet.

So there you have it, a nice, quick, clean and easy purchase that hardly took any time at all. The key here is to do a little bit of homework upfront. Know your critical size measurements to begin with (you just might need to revisit them occasionally if you've had any changes in body proportions) and have a quick look and see at the local mall or extreme sports store when you're on your "way from" or "way to" something and you have some spare minutes up your sleeve but not a long time to ponder. Then, once you've had a chance to assemble your thoughts and not be rushed into a snap purchasing decision (which you can do if you're traipsing around the shops with the whole family in tow and they want to go here, there and everywhere) simply go online to your favourite online snowboarding stores, do the price comparisons, make a choice and order.
