So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

A Gathering Of Some Awesome Crochet Yarn Shades

By Carson Holcomb

Knit yarn is sold to customers in a great variety of colours and textures. In fact, there are hues which suit just about every kind of style. To follow are some top tips and pointers for finding terrific colours to add character to your creations.

Shades of purple are a favorite among knitters for a great variety of reasons for sock yarn. The dark colour is very forgiving, softening the look of the fabric. This can be useful if you are just starting out with knitting and want to hide mistakes.

As well, purple is a traditional fall colour, reflecting the deep, warm shades of Autumn. Furthermore, it enhances skin tones. This is especially true for cool complexions. Purple is regal and rich. It seems to exude warmth which is the perfect compliment to warm knitted sweaters and scarves for Fall and Winter. You can find purple in a vast variety of shades from pale lavender to deep amethyst.

Delicate pink is another favorite colour choice for knitted garments and accessories. The pale colour seems to perfectly suit the delicate charm of knitted fabrics. Pink is of course often used for girl's and baby's knitted cardigans, hats and mittens. It also looks great for adult women's sweaters and scarves, lending a feminine touch to an outfit. Pink, like purple, compliments a variety of skin tones. Pairing a pink scarf with a dark colored coat is a great way to provide a fresh accent. Try decorating pink knitted accessories such as cardigans and scarves with sequins or beads to add a touch of elegance.

Certainly, pink yarn can be found in numerous different shades. This leads to a third great colour, hot pink. This magenta shade has lots of personality. A hot pink knitted scarf or belt adds instant vibrancy and fun. With its sense of play and youthfulness, hot pink is a good choice for kids as well.

A classic colour for knitting is black. Audrey Hepburn's black knitted cardigans proved the point. Black knitted accessories never seem to go out of style. You can choose from black cropped sweaters or longer knee-length versions with belts for a stylish way to keep warm. A black knitted hat or scarf makes a winter coat look chic and elegant.

Gray is another great colour for knitted garments. Not quite as dramatic as black, gray still lends a sense of style and class. Heather gray looks great with other brighter colours, including blue, pink and red.

Cool grays are very complimentary to skin tones and look great with a bright shade of lipstick. Gray knitted socks are a great gift because the colour compliments blue jeans as well as suits or business wear. Gray winter gloves are classy and stylish and ideal for pairing with a black, blue or gray coat. The military look which is ideal for winter or fall is perfectly complimented by grey knitted accessories.
