So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

It's Very Nice - 2 GB Netbook Critique

By Alexander Howard

I'd say give this netbook a try - it is a great entry level machine that takes well to upgrades. After a month of using this sweet little machine, I have to say Toshiba did a great job at engineering a netbook that's as completely functional as my desktop. It has worked like a charm, connecting to international wireless, fast enough to process documents, pictures and YouTube videos. Screen size and clarity are very good. Think I may buy another so my wife and I will both have one. Since I got this jewel, my iPad is just collecting dust. It also works very well with NETFLIX and the other routine functions (Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Internet of a PC (albeit, not as fast as my desktop with dual-core processor). I have to admit that I did not want to wait, so I bought it at BestBuy. It is lightweight, charges rapidly, has a long battery life, comes with a built-in webcam, has a great feel to it....a "grippy" texture and is a pleasant shade of green! The keyboard is comfortable and it has plenty of ports to add on anything you want. I have had it for three weeks and it's everything I expected and wanted. I am typing on it right now!

Let me start off by saying that this was my first ever laptop of any kind.

Kudos to Amazon as well for the very fast shipping and for the secure packaging. This is my first netbook and I have been impressed so far. If you want to change your background, there is a program called Oceanis Change Background that allows you do just that. And if you really need all of the features, you can use Windows Anytime Upgrade to move up to Home Premium, But I'll just stick with Starter since I have my Lenovo with Windows 7 Ultimate for when I need any of these features. I generally get about eight hours of battery life with moderate use which is simply amazing. This netbook is much better than my MacBook which gets only 1.5-2 hours of battery life.

First, it has rotten Wine support. You can't get anything like an official build for Wine 1.3 for Debian, especially for the stable version, Squeeze. Toshiba makes good laptop computers. This netbook is just what I had hoped it would be. Of course, updating to Word 2010 will cost upwards of $100 - and I don't even need/want Excel, Outlook, etc. I plan on updating from Word and Excel starter if you're going to use those programs at all, or find another source like Open Office.

I was shocked at how long it can stay on without charging it up. When I bought it, my main concern was the keyboard layout and battery life. And this netbook delivers on both counts.
