So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Area Rugs: Decors Bringing Great Home Interior Results

By Abbie Osborne-Wilson

Change is a good thing. Although it may be difficult to accept change in your life, changing your environment will make you feel renewed, refreshed, inspired. Changing your decor actually creates a positive psychology that turns everyday 'issues' into little challenges that do not create conflict. The result is a 'happier' you.

Making changes in your decor can be expensive and time consuming if you decide to change the wall paint or wallpaper. These will certainly create an impressive change. There is another, easier and economical way to create a dramatic transformation and that is by using area rugs.

If your home is already adorned with area rugs, then great! All you have to do is swap their places and your rooms will have an instant makeover. You can also replace your rugs with different colors, designs or even shapes. Simple alterations but a world of difference they make.

Just a note however. It's important to suit your area rugs with the rest of the room to boost its dramatic look, in a good way. The rugs should go well with the wall paint, furnishings and other decors such as the flowers, throw pillows and wall hangings.

The sense of balance is not only applicable to the area rugs and walls. The right match with the drapes or curtains, if you have one in the room, can have a beautiful effect.

The drapes and curtains can also be changed to suit the season. Thicker fabrics work best for winter while lighter colors are ideal for warmer seasons to add a cooling effect to the room. Tone on tone colors with the area rugs will create a more coordinated look.

There are so many choices of area rugs that you wouldn't have difficulty selecting one that fits your taste and budget. Area rugs are investments. Those in excellent quality can last for a long time and can be very functional for home use, particularly as a floor covering.

Your choice of area rug, especially with its texture will largely depend on the area where it will be placed. High-traffic places such as the kitchen and the living room need a thicker fabric to withstand wear and tear like those made of bamboo and wool. Cotton rugs are better suited in the bathroom where they can be easily washed.

Area rugs are available in different colors, designs, fabrics and shapes. The prices also vary. So depending on your budget, you can buy the most expensive kind such as Persian and Oriental rugs or be more economical with the synthetic type.

See how easy home decorating is with area rugs on hand? Simple ways, great results indeed.
