So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

If There Is A Problem With Machinery It Will Be Easily Seen When You Use Condition Monitoring Checks

By Willie I. Cloutier

When you have an industrial type business it is liable that you run safety checks often on the machinery; this is known as condition monitoring and is a way of taking proactive steps towards safety. When you least expect it, your machine could break down just when you are in the middle of doing something. That is why there is a trained maintenance crew on staff for times like these; some machines cannot wait to be fixed and they will need servicing right away for safety reasons.

There are many monitoring systems that are used as a preventative measure against malfunction of machinery; condition monitoring for these machines will allow you to know if there are any small or large leaks in the equipment. It may be a wise choice in some situations, but not all, to just let the machine fully break down rather than repair it; this is all going to boil down to cost. Depending on the piece of machinery and what its purpose is can help make a decision of how to handle each occurrence of breaking down.

It would be nice to save money but you cannot jeopardize anyone's life or their safety; you need to make smart choices when you are in a situation like this, safety takes precedence over money. There are many hazardous materials that are used in industrial environments and sometimes when a machine begins to break down or completely breaks down, it may be best just to replace it rather than fixing it. That is pretty much left up to the inspectors who notice the issue and how they plan on proceeding.

To a certain degree, a lot of these businesses still live in the old day with their machines. It is not always necessary to obtain new machines to test the machinery; if you have a well trained inspector they will be able to do a visual and let you know what is wrong, if there are problems. The initial problems that the inspector looks for are the obvious ones: cracks, leaks, corrosion, dents or other notable problems. You can also tell if the machine is hot by feeling it; this is a sure sign that the machine has failing components.

Certain machines run by rotators such as boilers and oil refinery machines; this is a great example of what a vibration analysis is used for, this will be able to tell you if there is the slightest problem with your machines operation. By performing routine inspections on the machines in your facility you are making sure that your workers, above all, are safe.
