So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

PVC Film OR Polyolefin: Making The Best Choice

By Ruben B. Adkisson

Many businesses use special machines that are designed for wrapping various products in shrink wrap, and they will normally choose between two different packaging materials, polyolefin and PVC film. You will have to decide on which material you will use based on a number of different factors pertaining to the types of products you are working with.

So go ahead and bring your product to mind, focusing on what it is formed from, how you want it to be presented, and more. Think about how much protection your product has to have and how many layers of protection can be added before it is no longer presentable. Think about what sort of support it needs, whether it is a group of items that must be bundled together or a single item that can stand on its own.

All of these things and more are important details you need when making your choice, because PVC and polyolefin offer different benefits and are not both ideal for all products. Making your choice incorrectly could leave you with a product that is tainted or broken all because it was wrapped with the wrong packaging material.

There are a number of wonderful products like CDs, magazines, and board games that have to be sealed up so that no one can remove anything from the package but also convenient for the customer to open after they buy it. In this situation, you would be better off with PVC, because it is thin enough to slice open, it is hard to simply rip open in the store.

On the other hand, if you are dealing with food products or things that require extra protection and support with little concern for appearance, polyolefin is definitely your best bet. Polyolefin is not harmful for food products and will not add any odd flavors or smells to them while they are supposed to be sealed up for extra freshness and flavor. This is also an incredibly strong material that can be wrapped over itself multiple times to develop a thick wall of plastic that could even hold a bundle of heavy iron pipes together.

There is no doubt that both PVC film and polyolefin are terrific packaging materials with multiple uses, but it is imperative that you choose the right one when only one will do. Once you have made your selection, you can get your products to the shrink wrapping machine and have them prepped for distribution.
