So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

San Antonio - A Perfect Get Away

By Michelle Kathleen

Family life can be like a mountain range with all its peaks and valleys. Most certainly in my family one of the peaks is our annual trip to Sea World San Antonio Texas. Our family has always had the most fun there. One of our favorite states is Texas and if you have never been there you are in for a treat. Texas is full of quirky qualities and loads of character and fun. It's the only place I know of where you can see an elite and a cowboy walking side by side. Be sure to pick up a list of Texas parks and guides before you go though because you don't want to miss anything that this state has to offer.

Some of the thrills and chills we have experienced at the park include a feature called, "Shark Encounter." We paid sharks a visit, up close and personal, while carried through an acrylic tube submerged in the water. What was our destination? It was a shark's tank! Of course, no trip to the park in San Antonio is complete without watching the killer whale show with the beautiful Shamu, but this is only the tip of the iceberg! There are dolphins that synchronize swim, and trained beluga whales. There is a sea lion show and all kinds of rides, including an inverted roller coaster. Our kids loved it there, and we want to go back.

While in San Antonio there are a variety of travel activities your family can enjoy. You will certainly want to jump on a boat and float the "Riverwalk" and visit a great part of Texas history, the Alamo. Be sure to enjoy some of the cities best Tex-Mex places and stop by and watch a local band or two. If you are into the great out doors you can't help but love San Antonio's rich Hispanic culture.

We found that there were many different Texas vacation packages available from which to choose. When visiting a travel agent, one can ask about those in general, or narrow the search down to specific San Antonio vacation packages that are suitable for family vacations. We asked the state tourist bureau to mail out information about San Antonio parks and guides that can show the most interesting places to visit.

Holiday travel to Sea World is always special. The place is just one of those travel destinations that makes us want to return over and again. Sometimes, all-inclusive vacations can contain tickets to the marine mammal park. It is best to request these from one's holiday travel and leisure specialist.

There are even some pretty funny laws in Texas. Did you know if you own a horse in Texarkana your horse must have taillights to ride it at night? Be careful flirting with your eyes in San Antonio, it's against the law. Both laws are out of date and not really enforced any longer but it's pretty funny to hear about them anyway.
