So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Shopping For Cocktail Dresses and Parties

By John Jones

For a woman, it is very important that she dresses perfectly for every occasion, be it at office or at a client meeting or while attending a party. But it is the party wear that demands the most attention because you can experiment with various styles and designs when you dress up for a party or a wedding. The latest trend nowadays is to wear stylish evening wear which is popularly known as a cocktail dress. Terani Couture is currently monopolizing a large market share when it comes to cocktail dresses.

Imagine that you have a formal invitation to attend a dinner party with cocktails. Dresses are an integral part of a formal dinner or lunch because whatever you wear will reflect your personality and taste. Cocktail dresses look smart and elegant and they also add "that extra zing" to your overall appearance.

But you live and party in the real world, not caught in one-split second of unique film perfection. Think about it. Will your friends admire your selection or see it as too much? Will you be comfortable in something outr for the duration of the party? The same rule of thumb goes for movie and television styles. What you see on the screen may plunge more deeply or rise higher than is acceptable for a social gathering. And screen actors and models for the most part adjust their body size to the camera's eye, which adds at least ten virtual pounds. You don't have to starve yourself for a dress.

Next we come to the colors of the cocktail dress. You can choose the colors according to the timing of the occasion. If the event takes place during the day, then you should ideally go for pastel shades like light blue, pink, crimson, yellow or pale green. Floral prints will work equally well. On the other hand if you are partying with your friends at a nightclub or dining at a restaurant, then opt for dark colors like brown, black, purple or red.

Whether the event is a party or a more prestigious affair, being able to find the right style, color and size is important. Find a style that enhances your best and most attractive features and avoid any style or color that has the opposite effect. One point to be aware of is the effect a patterned dress can portray. If you opt for a patterned dress ensure it is of a small print and is complimentary to your figure and style.
