So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

By Lejalia Urbas

Nowadays malted barley is the main ingredient of beer and does greatly affect the outcome of the taste. While in the original form "Grain" has a variety of uses in foods for people and animals alike and once malted is used in making beer. For those that brew at home or just enjoy a pint at the local pub, it's good to know how difficult it can be to produce good tasting beers consumed today.

Barley, what is it exactly? Well, it's basically a grain that has a wide variety of uses around the world. It may be used as animal feed on farms, made into cereal for breakfast or is commonly used in making a great tasting beer. Since it's complexity, it's the reason there's so many kinds of brew that you can make at home or enjoy at the local pub.

Beer making as a hobby can be a lot of fun. To get started you're going to need some equipment to do things right. Usually, there's a beer brewing store that may be found on-line or in your area where you can get all that you need.

Once you have everything you need, then the selection of barley and hops is key for producing a tasty brew. Since it is why beer tastes like it does and gives it foam and color, you may want to choose wisely. This of course is dependent on your expected results, whether you want a Pilsner, dark ale or to copy what you enjoy from the store.

The next time you are at a restaurant or local pub, it's good to know what all goes into creating that pint of beer. From the malting process to the final outcome, the results can greatly vary and it's why there's so much to choose from.

These days malted barley can be used in a variety of ways. Some may include: beer -- which is very popular, cereals and feed for animals around the globe. While it's not so easy to make, it is responsible for the flavor of your favorite brew for home brewing and what you enjoy at your local pub. It's not only a main ingredient, but gives beer it's taste that everyone can enjoy.
