So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

The Makings of a Perfect Guacamole

By Alejandro Mole

The Correct Way to Mash Guacamole Ingredients Utilizing the Correct Tools.

The right method to work with the ingredients would likely vary depending on your very own desires. If you want your guacamole to be chunky, then you'd not use a blender or even a molcajete( Mexican mortar and pestle). As an alternative, you may work with a fork or perhaps the back of a spoon to break the avocados as well as in blending most of the ingredients. You could mash the avocados the way you like it, keeping a bit of large portions and chunks.

But if you want your guacamole to turn out 100% mashed, similar to a real paste, utilizing a blender could be the right thing to try. You could mash each of the ingredients at once inside the blender, or mash the avocados first before the spices, it's up to you.

You may also work with a mortar and pestle or the Mexican type of it, the Molcajete in crushing the avocados, tomatoes as well as other ingredients, much like the way Aztec people prepare their guacamole way back in 16th century.

If you would like your guacamole to become the combination of chunky and smooth, you could mix of avocados and onions in to the blender while leaving behind the rest of the ingredients to be hand mashed. The rest of avocados may perhaps be manually mashed or sliced up into larger pieces.

Picking and Preparing the best Tomatoes

Choose ripe tomatoes because they carry the best amounts of lycopene. Go for those having red vibrant skins, and those which are tender and fleshy. Cut the tomatoes while ensuring most of their extracts and tissues are complete. You can also crush the tomatoes working with a mortar and pestle or with a molcajete, transforming them into a decent pulp. Remember not to waste the juice, and also the seeds of the tomatoes.

Picking out the best Avocados

Consider 3 factors in finding avocados for making a wonderful guacamole, the appearance, the location where the avocados came from and how it will feel if hard pressed. Unripe avocados are commonly transported from far places into your local marketplace, hence be cautious not to make use of unripe avocados. In selecting the ripe avocados, you need to search for those having dark green skins but aren't shiny, those which are undamaged devoid of black blemishes. Unripe avocados appear lighter in color and smoother.
