Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Tips On Decorating With Antique Trunks

If you search your family attics you will more than likely find a dated trunk. Yard sales and thrift shops can also be great places for finding these gems. The older a trunk is the better its character. These antique trunks are great pieces for conversation when they are displayed. There are many ways you can decorate with a trunk.

An old trunk will often bring to mind wonderful memories from your childhood. If you are fortunate to find a trunk that still contains stored items, you may have additional items to use for decorating. The trunk is versatile enough to fit with any decor such as classic, modern, contemporary, or antique.

These cherished pieces not only are decorative but they can many other functions. The number one thing they are used for is storage. However, they a great coffee tables that provide additional storage in your apartment of small home. The are also ideal for the larger homes because of the added easy access storage they provide.

Many times you will see an old trunk at the end of a bed for storing blankets and pillows. The style of the trunk can allow you to fit it with a cushion for extra seating. You will typically want a trunk with a flat top if you are going to use it as a coffee table or additional seating.

You may even want to use the trunk as a side table in your living room. A flat topped trunk can sit beside your recliner and hold your books, a lamp, coasters, or your remote controls. The side table can then double as storage for seasonal items, holiday decorations, pillows and blankets.
