So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

City Bikes: A Great Way to Commute

By Mike Sherman

There are so many advantages of commuting to work on a city bike as opposed to commuting by car, train, or bus. It will save you money, improve your health, and help the environment. It could even wind up saving you time depending on the distance that you are traveling. It will definitely be more enjoyable. The city bike is designed to handle everything that urban roads may throw your way.

There's no doubt that commuting by on your bike will save you money. The only thing that is tough about that is your wallet may weigh you down when you're riding. Gas prices now are crazy and add on to that how much it costs to maintain a vehicle. In this economy, that is tough to take on. It costs about $120 annually to own a bike whereas it costs over $5,000 per year to own a car. That's is without even taking into account how much mileage and wear you avoid on your car so you can prolong it's usefulness.

Riding your bike to work is a great way to improve your health. It can save you from having to exercise after work. Riding your bike can also lower your stress levels as well as your chances of getting heart disease. Furthermore, you will be gaining calories and building muscle.

Riding your city bike is also better for the environment and everyone else around you. There is no noise pollution or air pollution that comes from a bike. If more people rode their bikes to work, there would be a lot less construction on roads, which winds up setting people back anyway. There would also be less carbon dioxide from vehicles, which contributes to global warming.

Lastly, riding your bike to work can save you time. You don't have to deal with sitting in traffic or trying to find a place to park. Riding your bike is the perfect way to get to work if you are in a city. Then you can rub it in to all your colleagues who complain about how long it takes them to get to work.
