So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Name the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and win one

By Cornelius Nunev

The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee needs a title, and the Chrysler Group is ready to give one fortunate enthusiast a new, freshly titled Jeep for their work in the online Jeep "Name My Ride" competition. The enthusiast that comes up with the best name for Jeep's flagship SUV will drive away with a brand new car in May.

Nameless Jeep Grand Cherokee makes auto show introduction

A brand new name will be given to the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee by somebody in the public. The contest was made clear as the Chrysler Group released the SUV at auto shows in Washington D.C. and Houston, Texas. In May, the winter of the contest will be declared.

Everyone can participate. They just have to go to www.jeep.com/namemyride.

The Grand Cherokee concept sported a platinum-chrome front end with mesh grille, black gloss exterior treatments and glossy black 20-inch wheels. These features distinguish it from older Grand Cherokee designs, as do the black headlamp bezels and lift gate light bar. As a whole, Chrysler seems to have taken a more menacing stylistic path with the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Trying to change the look

A statement was made by Jeep Brand CEO Mike Manley. He said that he hopes to get some noise from the public with the 2012 Grand Cherokee. This should include what the public thinks about the new look.

"Our new Grand Cherokee concept provides a completely new look -- one that is edgy and aggressive and certainly different than any Grand Cherokee on the road today," he said.

If there is enough positive feedback, Manley claims the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be released as it is, although it is technically a concept model still.

Jeep sales on a roll

In 2011, Jeep sold 419,349 units in the U.S., reports the Chicago Tribune. That was a 44 percent increase over the previous year, a sign of large things to come. Of those sold last year, 127,744 were Grand Cherokees, a 51 percent increase over 2010.

Manley believes customers will like the change in style. It should bring in new consumers.

"Jeep enthusiasts have always appreciated limited-edition models and the ability to customize their vehicles," he said.
