So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Bike Safeguard: Knowing Why We Should Not Drive After Drinking

By Darnell Austria

Knowing several studies estimating, nearly 50 percent coming from all motorcycle accidents are related to alcohol consumption, discussing the problem is nonetheless important.

As much as many of us love to ride in dry, wonderful, weather, we're going to go over a different sort of type of dry riding, one free of liquor. With the knowledge currently on drinking alcohol and traveling, as well as the fact everyone understands generally the implications of being caught up operating a motorcycle while under the influence, it is strange that it is still an issue in motorcycling at present. Add to that the fact that, ratio-wise, much more driving while intoxicated (DWI) arrests involve bike drivers than car drivers, and you have a scary position.

In the last few years, there has been countless studies gathered relating to the topic of riding an automobile while impaired. We will be using some of them while addressing this matter.

We must understand a handful of facts to begin with. Alcohol is measured by blood alcohol count (BAC), which is the number of alcohol in an individual's blood system. Another thing is whether it's an average 12 ounce beer (not the percentage type), 4-5 ounces of wine, or around 1 oz of 80-proof alcohol. All of them have similar level into your blood system, 0.02 %. In most states, the degree of 0.05 is an offense that could result in your arrest that's simply two and a half drinks in an hour, no matter what you're drinking. For anyone that say, "It's only beer," you should think again. Nearly 80 % of all driving under the influence arrests are of motorists that have only been drinking beer.

There's one simple thing that could get rid of alcohol out of your system which is time. It requires generally 1 hour for the body to digest a drink (.02%), which is if you are in great physical condition. Health conditions, prescription drugs, and your age raises that period, in addition, it's without a doubt that it takes a little longer for any female's body system to digest exactly the same volume. Meals will simply make you full and intoxicated, coffee can make you drunk and awake, and cooler showers will simply make you soaked. The only method to take away alcoholic beverages in your body is time, at an average of just one drink an hour.

To think or say that you'll be able to manage or hold your alcohol can be a huge error in judgment. Alcohol in all forms immediately has effects on your mental common sense and eyesight. You must keep in mind that the liquor goes into your system, which often travels to your head; hence, the effects are exactly the same whether you feel you are able to handle your drinking or otherwise not. Scientific study has analyzed professional riders soon after one or two shots within an hour or so. As they were well over capable of finishing the only task of riding a motorcycle, the instant an unexpected emergency evasive steer, like a sudden halt, swerve, or diminishing turn was required, their skills failed them as a result of the alcoholic beverages drank. If expert riders have difficulties adjusting to more than one task, just how do you think the average driver would do under the same conditions?

Besides all the studies connected with alcohol and automobiles, there is the lawful factor to weigh if you're charged with the offense. Currently, the expense of attorneys, the courtroom payments, fines, constrained licenses, insurance , along with other charges for first time violators is often an extreme problem to handle.

Our safe keeping is our accountability, simply being responsible includes being aware of not to drink and ride. Make sure to isolate the two, so when it comes to others, inform them to do the same. All of us love the freedom of biking, but biking while under the influence can quickly remove that liberty or even worse. Ride often, drive safe, ride straight.
