So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Becky Brown on Doomsday Preppers

By Terrance Franklin

This section of Doomsday Preppers revealed one thing - that every person needs someone who is a sniper. My sniper friend and I can be like a post-apocalyptic buddy cop film. He would be the super deadly cool under fire type and I would spout within corny pop culture meta-referrals. I'd have the macros down to a science though/ In any case, I am getting before my own self.

1. Martial Laws

Becky's failure of choice is a declaration of martial law by the US government. National Geographic summarily terminated this possibility as something which could not occur in the United States. However, the historic context for the affirmation of martial law has resulted in a few of the greatest tragedies of the twentieth century. The Great Leap Forward, leading to approximately 30 million fatalities, is an example that might come to mind.

While many of us might feel protected by Constitutional rights, legislature including the national defense authorization act, for example have changed the playing field. With the ability to treat domestic region as a war zone, the government is able to announce martial law at any time in not so many words. We live in transforming times and even the oldest rights can be challenged as we move ahead.

2. Bugging in - the ideal idea?

Anxiety about the government should go together with specified preparation abilities. The main transformation that might occur under martial law is the common planning of resources. This indicates that your foodstuff is now our food. Unlike protecting against looters, deadly force will not be appropriate in a government takeover, at least not in an urban place. If government take over is truly the reason behind prepping, bugging out should be the main concern.

3. Sniping

Speaking of lethal force, possessing the skill set of a sniper is another property that could be accompanied by a bug out strategy. Sniping from a fortified area such as a house eliminates a lot of the risk of a sniper. Against a large force, if location was identified, the sniper in question would be as good as dead. But, take this to somewhere in the woods, in a region well studied with many hiding places, and adequate damage could be done to prevent any potential looters.

4. Cooperation

Returning to the topic of collaboration from the other day, Becky had provided some excellent conversation. Her joining up with her sniper friend is obviously a win-win task. It wasn't shown whether or not her friend was preparing food store just like Becky was, however materials along with the firepower to protect them go with each other like milk and biscuits. Plus friendship could go a long way from a psychologist's emotional perspective if Becky chose to bug out to the hills.

Teaching her friends was another good play but could go awry in the event of a failure. The friends interviewed mentioned that they were a little bit overwhelmed which was easy to understand. From my viewpoint the whole display looked somewhat staged. If they had been too scared to actually prep, Becky would have written herself a ticket for three additional mouths to satisfy once the supermarkets ran out. Follow-up would be key in a scenario similar to this.
