So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

What Is An E-Reader?

By Chris Pastor

The printed book has lots of die-hard fans. Let's be honest, nothing at all is that can compare with turning the pages of a book, the aroma, or thumbing through to the most interesting parts. Many folks feel that these things cannot be sacrificed for mere convenience. It'll most likely be many, many years before print books fall out of style. Before they die out completely, they will certainly become items for enthusiasts and novelty discussion pieces.

In the meanwhile, everybody welcomed the e-reader. An e-reader is really an digital device employed to display the text of digital content, namely books. Some e-readers can also display images, content diverse formats, as well as video. E-readers that focus mainly on reading and books are outfitted with a black and white screen. More sophisticated devices have full color screens able to display pretty much any kind of digital content.

The key selling point of e-readers would have to be convenience. Common e-readers are about the size of a medium paperback and can hold an entire personal library of books. E-readers can download whole books in just a few seconds from the Internet. What's more, books formatted for e-readers have significantly reduced prices because there is no paper, ink, or other materials to pay for. This matter of convenience has taken many die hard book fans to the side of the very device that may eventually replace hard copy books.

The e-reader experience is extremely different from reading a book. If you like to thumb through your books, this will be difficult when you are required to page through using the e-reader's navigation and waiting through page refreshes. The upside, however; is that it is much easier to get lost in the story without reference to the number of pages you have read or how much you have left. E-books have features that print books could never fathom. E-books can include live web links. E-readers can look-up a word just by touching the word. E-readers can save all of your bookmarks and notes in one hassle-free spot.

E-readers make uncovering books easy since most of them are linked to one or more booksellers. Many classics have been tailored for e-readers and are available as free downloads. You cannot buy a hard copy of the classics for free. E-readers are light and easy to hold. They have a lengthy battery life and the battery is rechargeable. Many e-readers, especially tablets, offer additional features to reading such as games, video, and web browsing. A well-equipped e-reader is likely to become your constant companion when at home, the dentist's office, or doing some summer time reading on holiday.

For the price of a large bookshelf, a user could have an e-reader with the capacity to hold twenty of the same bookshelves stuffed with books, and have room to spare. It really is a cost effective option to getting the personal library you have always wished.
