So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Advantages That Come With Rally Mud Flaps

By Paula Barron

One way of ensuring that the safety and performance of rallying is not compromised is by installing rally mud flaps for cars. These are sheets of materials that are attached behind the wheel area of rally cars to stop dashing debris thrown into the air by the revolving tires.

The components used to make these flaps are basically thermosetting polymers with few exceptions of plastic PURs. The manufacturing process varies according to companies, but the product is always the same with the only difference being the sizes. Companies such as RokBlokz employ C-N-C systems and machines to mould the polymers into long-lasting flaps that cannot wave in extreme racing speeds. The process includes reinforcement to industry standards that beat high and low temperature conditions in zones such as Arizona and Canada respectively.

They play an important role in preventing injury to the vehicle, passersby and other vehicles from preventing stones, mud and other debris from flying into the air. They have been aerodynamically designed to utilize shaping, louvers, and vents to improve airflow and lower drag. In addition, they protect eroding and scratching of car paints caused by stones, sand and dirt picked up by the tires.

They come in different colors and designs with plain color of rubber being more prevalent. Some contain company logos, advertisements, sporting features, and other forms of art. Their semi-rigid nature makes them quite flexible to accommodate bending and giving over bumps and obstacles without cracking or warping.

The universal mud flaps made from polyurethane material vary in thickness, and a variety of sizes to suit different models. Some are wide enough to fit off-road vehicles while others come in small lowered cars. They are cheap, and their costs are favorable depending on the brand name.

A mud flap requires a lot of soul-searching before it is purchased. The low-priced varieties are readily available but offer equivalent disappointments if not services. Since most of them are made of synthetic materials, they are easily torn apart by the rough terrains. The racing speeds are always amazing and bring with it the challenge of unnecessary trash depositing itself in the engine and lower side of the car. Problems are enviably impossible to be encountered in such a scenario. Tires that hold onto the ground firmly provide better speed and do not require frequent changes.

The only detriment with mud flaps is the installation. If not properly installed they can loosen or fall off in the course of the journey providing unnecessary friction to the wheels and hindering speed. Some cars that are not built for mud flaps lack the holes necessary for mounting. It, therefore, requires specialized personnel to drill them and effectively fit them in the right positions.

The services of rally mud flaps are ultimately unquestionable, and it is up to rally drivers to choose how they should work for them. Materials such as PUR are proven to provide exemplary services on course endurance and safe rallying.
