So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

A few gourmet recipes using ketchup

By George Dodson

Good food is loved by everyone. No matter where you are taking it, some good food might be the thing you need to make your day complete.

Much of what makes that food special, is the way it is prepared and the ingredients included in it. A certain ingredient could be what the food needed to make it special where nothing else could.

Recipes incorporate various things. Of many interesting ingredients, ketchup is one of them.

Which of the gourmet recipes include ketchup?

Many recipes get a zest out of ketchup. The special recipe is made special using ketchup. The recipe is called Barbecued Catfish. You mix all the ingredients to include cup of ketchup to make a sauce. All the ingredients are mixed up in cup of ketchup to form the sauce. The cat-fish is marinated within the mixture and let to stand in the fridge for 15 minutes. You should take 12 minutes to cook the fillets continuously basting them with sauce, afterwards, you should have a fine meal.

Another great recipe incorporating Ketchup is Crockpot Sloppy Joes. It involves mixing all the ingredients with one cup of ketchup and cooking them on a crock-pot for about 6 hours. When done, it is served on a toasted hamburger bun for a great meal.

How about your favorite barbecued spareribs. Your spareribs can receive a good taste by using a cup of ketchup for glazing them. All the ingredients are mixed together and then poured over the ribs. For an extra flavor, the ribs are marinated for 3-4 hours prior to baking them for that exquisite taste.

An interesting recipe includes mixing a cup of ketchup with a cup of root beer, lemon juice and also some Worchester sauce and brown sugar. This is then boiled while stirring it from time to time. You can then simmer the mixture until you get the volume. Seasoning may be added to taste. A good barbecue sauce can be derived from this. This also makes some good barbecue sauce. You store in your refrigerator until needed.

Finally, there is Barbecued Tex-Mex Wings. You should add about a cup of ketchup to other ingredients to come up with a sauce. You place your wings on the grill and baste them as you cook them. The sugar content might make basting them more to burn. In about 10 minutes, you have some delicious wings made very special by ketchup.

The recipes are just examples of the many that exist. They are all very tasty, though my friends ask how much I spend on the condiment. I am in luck as I purchase them in bulk and utilize any coupons that come my way.
