So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Keeping Children Safe in their Bedrooms

By Brian Callahan

Selecting furniture for your kid's bedroom is exciting because there are so many amazing options to choose from. Buying furniture for your kid's bedroom is made a little easier when you have a little direction as to what to look out for and how to organize their room's furniture.

The foremost concern of planning the furniture for your kids is to ensure their utmost safety. You can have all the fancy bells and whistles that come with decorating a fancy child's bedroom, but if their safety is at stake then all the planning and arranging of the furniture is a waste because your child could get injured. It is extremely critical to ensure your children are safe at all times when they are playing or resting in their bedroom.

A Kid's Bedroom

Nurseries and rooms for children must be planned with safety features and with the child's future in mind. You can start by having a changing table near the child's bed or crib. Having a spare trundle bed for occasional sleepovers will also be a good idea as well.

Baby Crib Locations

It is essential that cribs are not located near curtains or cords of any kind. Also do not have small rugs in their bedroom as it can cause them to trip or lose their balance.

Bedroom Furniture Safety Standards for Kids

Cribs, beds, in fact the entire bedroom should adhere to regulated safety standards. The mattress should not be loose upon the bed and should fit perfectly against the side of the crib. Ensure that the child is not able to release the drop sides of the crib as he/she could tumble out.

Check to verify that the individual side rails and corner posts are correctly spaced and not greater than 3 inches apart. Anything extra to add to the look of the crib must appropriately spaced to prevent unnecessary accidents. The crib needs to be so safe that it's almost impossible for a baby or young child to get hurt.

Electrical Outlets

Safe plastic plugs or coverings around the electrical outlets will almost certainly remove the possibility of your child getting shocked or hurt by the sockets. Young children are too curious and want to know what happens when they touch anything. You can easily prevent the threat of shock or even death by having the available safeguards in place.

Because of the potential for falls and stumbling around, all major items and furniture pieces should be round-shaped. Remove any rough edges or rough surfaces to ensure their safety. Do not have rugs in the room as it could cause them to fall and hurt themselves.

Kid's Bunk Beds

Bunk beds that you can shop for online are equipped with strong ladders, safety rails and handrails. This ensures that there are no accidents or injuries as children are not very cautious, sometimes they assume that everything is okay because it appears to be okay.

Plan the layout of their bedroom that makes them feel very loved by you as the parents. Safety is of the utmost importance when it comes to your little kids playing and resting in their bedrooms.
