So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

The pieces that were highly valued were green and red.

However, another group of people was also enjoyed making different accessories in the past. They were the ancient Mesopotamians and they also gave lapiz lazuli such importance just like what the Egyptians did. They were able to produce ornaments made of agates, jasper and carnelian. Materials made from glass were not given much importance, but working with many kinds of metals were preferred by them.

On another note, there are still current debates on the function of old ornaments in the past. Many believe that their uses before are somehow similar to the way they are used today. First, they are used for their ornamental value. Next, they are known to be symbols of the social status of people.
