So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

What To Get For Care Package For College Students

By Cherry Mercer

Parents naturally worry when their kids are away from home for the first time. While independence can be freeing, most of these kids still do not have any idea about the responsibilities that come with it. Juggling school and a work is no joke. So is budgeting available money. Parents can help by providing a care package for college students.

There are really no established rules regarding what this item should contain. It actually depends on the needs of the receiver or what you think she misses the most. This is a great way to show that you care and that you are thinking of her. The following are some ideas with what you can put in this package.

One of the easiest and most useful products you can send would be food. The key to this is to choose products that do not spoil easily. While you can send treats, junk foods and snacks, include some healthy options as well. With your child away from home, he will probably not be focusing on following a healthy diet.

Once school supplies run out, it can easily take up a large portion of his budget. Fortunately, many of these are small in size so you can send printing supplies, paper, clips, even post its. Pen and other writing supplies are also useful. Study aids like highlighters will also be welcome.

Give her a months supply of shampoo, soap, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, even deodorant. It will help reduce his trips to the grocery and reduce expenses on her part. Laundry basics can also be added. Most of these students will probably wait before they have almost nothing to wear. Include detergent, quarters, and the like.

Your daughter will probably be living in a bare room when she first arrives. Most students will be focused on the basics and will not have thought of putting some decorative touches to their space. Send some curtains for the windows. Blankets and sheets will also be useful. Throw pillows can make the space more comfortable.

Accidents happen. When it does, you will not be there to help your kid. For this type of situations, put together some items that can provide basic care. Bandages, antibacterial ointment, and band aids should provide help for minor wounds. Over the counter medications for common illnesses like flu should also be included.

These items can be sent any time but try to keep to occasions when these will be most needed. If you know that exams are coming, sending one will be well received. If there are so many projects that have to be completed, then school supplies will certainly be needed. Birthdays and other such occasions are also opportunities for sending these items.

The first time your daughter or son is away from home, she may be unprepared for many of the changes taking place. It can help if you send a care package for college students to help her through the adjustment period. These can consist of food items, toiletries, decorative touches, and even medicine.
