So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Achieve That Modern Look With These Interior Design Tips

By Chase Perry

Have you always wanted a home that's clean and sleek? If you have grown tired of your floral wallpaper that's showing signs of wear and tear, or perhaps that carpet that is gathering both dust and grime, then it really is high time for an interior refurbishment.

Modern homes usually have three basic qualities: they are clean, they are minimalist, but they're bold on all the right places too. Achieving this type of look for your own space takes careful preparation and research. Your goal is to create a modern space that fits your lifestyle, your funds, and your personality. To help you visualise the things you need, here are a couple of interior design ideas.

No matter what the room you're working on, the furniture you're going to add to it is the most vital element of all, since it is the centre of activity and the single largest piece in a room. You therefore have to choose pieces which are sleek, simple, and clean to complement your whole house's theme. Whatever accessories you put ought to complement the furniture's look too. Put considerable investment on the couch, dining set, tables, and cabinets. Always think long-term when buying furniture. The sturdier it is, the longer you can use it.

Achieving a modern Singapore interior design often requires getting the colour palette right. Think black and white or neutrals and creams for the large pieces (furniture, walls, ceiling, and floor). Like a cherry on top, put touches of bold colours like reds, blues, yellows and oranges on smaller pieces like decorative vases, pillows, and paintings. In place of these small decorative pieces, other homes choose bigger ones that make a statement, such as painting one whole wall in the living room using bold colours. This adds character to a living room with a predominantly black-and-white palette. If in doubt, you can always consult an interior designer Singapore.

In choosing every other piece which goes into the rooms, keep lines and designs simple and clutter-free. Use florals, laces, and other busy patterns sparingly, if at all. If you really want to use them, choose only one type to use in the entire home, and stick to just one piece with such design on it in every room.
