So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Critical Facts About Structural Foam

By Antoinette Quinn

Structural foam molding refers to a process of low pressure injection where plastic melt gets foamed with chemical blowing agent or Nitrogen gas. As plastic fills mold, the wall belonging to the part then solidifies against cold mold wall. This leads to formation of thin plastic layer along mold wall, which forms skin structure over the inner core which is foamed.

The trim outer wall is reinforced by interior structure of cellular foam. This procedure may be employed on multiple parts having diverse sizes, targeting production of stronger and durable parts potentially. Multiple large parts require walls of relatively larger thickness in comparison to those generated through the injection molding process.

The crafting of this type of foam is done such as to facilitate use of foaming substance. Plastic of injection malleable variety may be employed in this case. Combining this lower-viscosity mixture plus a cross section of the thicker, molded part means that there is less need of injection as well as clamping pressures.

There are less stresses created when injecting plastic into mold. The lower pressures along with forces occasioned allow that more economical equipment is utilized in production. Enormous parts may be manufactured through the engineering procedure with various parts being molded in simultaneous fashion within a given cycles.

Different methods can be employed for generating the foam product. To ensure attaining moldings that have consistent quality, special purpose machines of dedicated kind ought to be used. These kinds of machines inject gas into plastic of melted form within closed mold tool. The action triggers foaming of plastic material belonging to the component getting manufactured. Another method widely utilized is that featuring standard injection molding machines. It incorporates blowing of agents into the substance.

The plastic gets melted in a machine barrel using dry chemical blowing substances mixed together with plastic granules. A measured charge then gets injected into the mold tool. The melted plastic heat causes reaction of the blowing agent, forming a gas that later foams the plastic.

Use of the Low Pressure Process which is more controlled facilitates larger production of larger moldings. Nearly all thermoplastic materials may be foamed, with wall sections of five to fifteen millimeters being thicker than compact injection moldings. Some moldings have been produced of around 40 kg and over one meter.

The manufacturing process employed leaves behind naturally streaky finish that exhibits roughness on the molding surface. Filling as well as painting operation is done later if the outcome obtained is not desirable. The painted surface is often-times made up of textured types which reduce any irregularities appearing on molds.

Some materials with lighter grade, Cast Aluminum and Cast Steel may be crafted by utilizing cavity fill pressures which are low. Production costs are in such instances cheaper than for regular injection molding. If moldings are to be formed via structural foam processing, they get prepared using standard machines and the products attained are invariably for engineering-related applications.
