Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Four Custom Upgrades For Your Diesel Truck

For those who own a diesel truck, there are many different ways that you can upgrade your ride with an amazing assortment of aftermarket products. There are many common choices for upgrades, and each has been designed to in some way improve the functionality of your truck. Here is some information about popular upgrades you might consider.

One aftermarket part that is often applied to a diesel truck is a lift pump. There are many different pumps, including Airdog lift pumps, a Fass lift pump and other models which are available for Duramax, PowerStroke or Cummins engines. A lift pump basically moves fuel from the fuel tank to the injection pump. An aftermarket pump will complete this action far more quickly and more evenly then the one installed by the manufacturer.

A water methanol injection system is another option for your truck, and it can be a great option if you are towing or racing. This system will inject into your intake manifold, which lowers your charge air temperatures thus increasing oxygen for more efficient combustion. When you tow or race, your car needs more power and generates more heat, and this water-methanol injection can help accommodate this heat.

Because of environmental regulations, all factory trucks include a special filter known as a diesel particulate filter. The DPF is put in place to reduce the amount of smoke and soot that your truck releases into the atmosphere. While this is certainly a positive for the environment, it does reduce the engine power, which is not a good thing for those involved in truck racing. Installing a delete kit is a way to disable the DPF and get more power for racing. However, it must be noted that a delete kit is only legal for close-coursed racing. In addition, you need to also install a tuner and an upgraded exhaust along with the delete kit.

Trucks, like all vehicles these days, have fairly sophisticated computer systems that control everything from timing to the ratio of fuel to air. These settings are programmed at the factory, but you can negate them and create your own settings using a programmer or tuner. With a tuner, such as a Smarty tuner, a Quadzilla programmer or an Edge programmer, you can improve your fuel economy and increase the torque and horsepower of your engine. Even better, you can probably install this item yourself.

No matter what upgrades you decide to install, you need to do quite a bit of research before settling on any part or brand. Consider talking to an expert or discussing your needs with a performance truck part supplier before getting started. You need to have a solid understanding in general about how your truck's engine works, as well as a good deal of education about how all of these aftermarket parts work together to improve performance prior to making a purchase.
