So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Key Features To Consider When Choosing The Right 4-post Hoist

By Jerry Wilson

Great choice! You have decided on a four-post hoist for your work situation. This sturdy, rugged lift will make servicing vehicles much safer and easier for you. Not all four-post hoists are the same and it is important to look at a number of points when deciding on the one to buy to suit your situation.

1) What vehicles will you service the most with your 4-post hoist?

When it comes to your workshop, what types of vehicles do you find yourself servicing most often? For small, narrow vehicles, you should look for a 4-post hoist with an adjustable platform that can be made narrower as you require, whereas for large, wide vehicles you should choose a larger hoist with higher capabilities. You can find a wide range of superior four-post lifts (available in lifting capacities of 8t-18t, and with two different lengths to choose from: 6.6m or 8.2m), so whatever type of vehicles you service, you can get the best garage equipment for your needs.

2) Search for the longest 4-post hoist ramps out there

Many people underestimate just how long platforms really are when servicing vehicles. But short ramps and low profile vehicles do not mix - which is a lesson you'll learn quickly if your four-post hoist accidentally scrapes the underside of a customer's car. Remember: you can always get a high vehicle on a long ramp, but not the other way around! BendPak 4-post hoists come with extra long ramps as standard.

3) Four independent safety locks

One grey area in the Australian Safety Standards is safety locks for 4-post hoists. So you could get away with only the one lock but that is definitely jeopardising safety in your workshop should that lock not work. The best solution is to look for a hoist with all four locks on all four posts of the hoist that work separately from each other. Some hoists have fully automatic, mechanical safety locks that click into place as the lift rises so there is no way things can go wrong. With this type of lift you can be sure that you and everyone in your workshop is safe. The HD and HDS series of four post hoist is the best performer in safety, hydraulics and productivity even when use in the busiest workshop.
