So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Modifying Your Diesel Truck

By Jone Carducci

People purchase diesel trucks for a number of reasons. They tend to have better fuel economy and the engines are less prone to problems than gasoline-powered trucks. And, they definitely last a lot longer if they are properly maintained. If you are wondering what type of modifications you might want to make to your new truck, it depends entirely on what you need.

Diesel trucks are generally pretty powerful, and most can tow a fairly heavy load. Even so, towing definitely makes the engine work harder, and there are ways to help make it easier on your truck. For example, purchasing a programmer or chip can help you alter the factory settings on your truck and maximize the output of your engine.

These programmers, which interchangeably are also called tuners, will allow you to make your own settings of the computer, which can increase your fuel efficiency as well the torque and, of course, your horsepower. A little research is all you need to find out what type of tuner you need, such as a Quadzilla tuner, an Edge performance chip or perhaps a Smarty tuner.

Another addition that also has been shown to improve both your torque and gas mileage is an upgrade known as a cold air intake. This allows more air to flow in which improves your power. Your fuel economy, if you continue to drive in the same manner, also can increase by as much as four or five miles per gallon.

For those who don't plan on racing their truck and won't be towing anything especially weighty, some of these modifications are not really necessary. In addition, if you don't spend a great deal of time off-roading or driving very long distances, upgrades are more for the cool factor than completely necessary, but some are still a lot of fun to make. There are also some general upgrades that you should consider to improve the look and individuality of your diesel truck.

In this case, consider upgrading the look of the truck with bigger wheels and tires, as well as purchasing an upgraded grille and grille guards, all of which improve the look of the truck. None of these upgrades will significantly alter your truck's performance, but they look great and sometimes that is all the upgrade you really need. The grille guard is an excellent way to protect your grille, though, and the larger rims and tires will make your truck's cornering and handling a bit better. You can also consider a cool, custom paint job, which is always a great and easy upgrade to make.
