So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Find Your Vintage Style Prom Dress

By Sisi Tsoi

With regards to attending your prom, it really is the biggest day of your tender age. Almost everyone wants to shine through and look unique. It is needless to say that you are able to select the standard shop bought dress, which will set you back around $300-$400 mark. Bear in mind, however, that you will have a greater chance of clashing with someone else in an identical dress. Naturally the majority of us can not afford to pay for couture that will make us the focal point of attention. Going vintage or vintage style appears to be the fantastic solution, but it is not without its minefields.

The term vintage is no longer a scary idea to many of us. Once associated with unwanted and smelly bits of tat left in a charity shop, it is now viewed as an awesome way to revive your fashion credit.

There are lots of alternatives, from vintage shops and surfing eBay, to scouring the high-street. Add in some imagination, and you certainly won't need to break your budget with regards to trying to find your perfect vintage style prom dress. Even though a few of us might still think gowns in a vintage style are dangerously close to the realm of fancy dress, allow us to prove otherwise. To start with, let's begin with the flapper roaring 20s.

Remember the days when Drew Barrymore was cool and not corporate? She dressed in stunning beaded dresses, with mesh overlays and cascading sheer layers, for that classic 20s Siren look. Her hair was crimped and coiffed to perfection. There are plenty of movies for us to get into the mood, like the currently anticipated Great Gatsby. With its rainbow of beaded silk dresses, all those carefree ladies certainly show us how to have a good time. A classic 20s dress is a straight up and down number, mostly made of silk and lots of beading. A 'real' vintage 20s dress may set you back $500, and on most of them the beading is very fragile due to the age of the garment. But there are plenty of choices out there in high street shops that fit the style criteria. If you take a look at the following dress, it is classic 20s shape, with black overlay mesh material, covered in beads, and comes with a slip dress. Mostly suitable for girls with a boyish figure, a lover of beaded and luxurious comfort will carry this dress with amazing style.

Accessorize yourself with some mary jane heels or even a piano fringe shawl and we guarantee you will be the belle of the ball.
