So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

The Benefits Of Wearing Organic Clothes

By David Green

Regardless of the knowledge of the stress that unsustainable habits has on the environment, deciding to take up sustainable activities is not always so simple to do. However, a larger number of schools and workplaces are making efforts to go green. For example, wind energy is getting to be more easy to adopt. Additionally, there are lots of other things that regular people can implement to help out the environment. One of those things is to support organic clothing.

There is a chance that you are familiar with the concept of organically grown food, but you maybe aren't so familiar with organic clothing. What is it anyways? When we talk about organic crops, we mean the ones that don't add harmful chemicals to the soil. This helps maintain all the creatures within the environment.

Conventionally grown cotton is the most prevalent clothing material, and it is also the one crop with the biggest impact on the environment. Did you know that twenty-five percent of pesticides are used for growing cotton?

Organic cotton, on the other hand, is harvested without any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Instead, the cotton is grown through natural methods. More organic materials such as hemp and bamboo are also eco friendly natural fibers for organic clothing.

One important plus of organic clothing should be the fact that it is more gentle to your skin. As the fibers don't contain traces of harmful chemicals, they won't trigger skin reactions. Furthermore, bamboo fabric is naturally resistant to bacteria.

Any time we decide on organic clothing, we cut down on the amount of polluting materials making their way into the soil and water. Conventional farming causes unimaginable amounts of harmful chemicals to penetrate the earth and spread to our water. That is a growing source of health complications these days. But when we opt for organic apparel, we will be supporting the efforts of organic farming practices that don't damage the environment.

Many organic clothing materials such as hemp and bamboo are very durable. They will hold up to numerous washings and last longer than clothing from ordinary fabrics.

Whenever we opt to wear environmentally responsible garments, we are improving the lives of all the people who grow organic crops. Their communities and homes are spared from an exposure to a harmful build up of chemicals that can result from irresponsible agricultural practices.

Considering all of these benefits, we should not be surprised that more and more clothing designers are shifting over to putting out organic clothing.
