So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Goodyear Tires Have Made Some Very Important Appearances Through The Years

By Alexa A. Bartell

The Goodyear Tires and Rubber Company that is the maker of famous Goodyear Tires were named after Charles Goodyear who did not exactly have a direct connection with that company, which may seem a little odd. That may seem a little odd, or confusing until we dig a little deeper to learn more. In 1839 a gentleman by the name of Charles Goodyear invented vulcanized rubber, inspiring Frank Seiberling who founded the company in 1898 to name it after the inventor of vulcanized rubber. The tires manufactured by this company became popular very quickly since they were easily detachable and required little or no maintenance, thanks to the vulcanization.

They employ testing standards that are higher than those issued by the government as they strive to manufacture the best tires that are on the road making them well-known for their quality products. Vehicle types that include private passenger vehicles, trucks ATVs and even trailers can all use these quality tires that are made for them. If we take a look at the company background we will see that they are well-known for manufacturing quality tires for more than those types of vehicles, as they have made an impressive appearance at some well-known events.

In 1898 the first Goodyear Tires were manufactured by their factory in Akron, Ohio. The items that they specialized in during that period were tires for carriages and bicycles, poker chips and horseshoe pads. Racing tires were provided to Henry Ford in 1901, and in 1903 the original tubeless automobile tire was patented by them. They produced pneumatic aircraft tires in 1909 that were the first of that type. In 1911 they manufactured the first airship envelope followed by the 1912 debut of the Goodyear blimp

They were the world's largest rubber company by 1926 and became listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1927 with their initial public offering. The first American-made synthetic rubber tire was manufactured by them in 1937 followed by the first nylon tires in 1947. The following period revealed that more winning race cars employed their racing tires than any other brand available. They also were responsible for the first tires on the moon in 1970s with Apollo14. They became the exclusive supplier of tires by 1975 for the Indianapolis 500 drivers.

Among the world's largest manufacturers of tires we should also mention the Michelin tires that are available in an impressive line. Driver satisfaction that can be experienced on the highways, city streets and even at off-road events is the focus of this company to provide all around excellence.
