So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Home Security Essentials: Tips For Housekeeping

By Mark Mahaffey

How would you rate yourself as a housekeeper? Believe it or not, the way you answer that question may indicate how likely you are to have problems with home security. The truth is that homes that are not taken care of very well tend to have more problems with security.

If we are honest, we will admit that we are a very busy society. We are all running here and there trying to keep up with appointments and other responsibilities. And of course, when we are so busy, we cannot take care of everything. When this happens, it is easy to let the upkeep of our home go.

But if you let the upkeep of your home go, you may end up with security problems that you had not counted on. There are some home security essentials which, when taken seriously, will help you to stay safer than if you ignored these basic tips.

Keep this in mind. Vandals may be more attracted to your home if it is messy and trashy. If they have to choose between a trashy looking house and a well maintained house, they may be more likely to choose yours. So study these home security essentials as a way of improving your home security and making your home and your family more secure.

First let's talk about the outside of your home. If you have items that need to be stored outside, put them into a shed or other outbuilding. If you do not have an outbuilding, stack them neatly and keep the grass around them mowed. If you have a fence around your yard, keep it well maintained. Your landscaping should also be carefully manicured, so that it does not look messy.

The inside of your house is crucial too, believe it or not. True, thieves cannot see what is inside your house, but if a fire were to break out, the inside of your house would be a determining factor of how much danger you would be in. Keep clutter under control for better fire safety in your home.
