So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

The Role Of Muscle Memory For Drummers

By Jason Larrsohn

Drumming is a great activity to become involved in. Making music or contributing to it with drums is exciting and engaging, especially if one is building up skill on the instrument.

They want to know what they can do to improve their drum fills. For that there are a couple of suggestions.

Learn to love the style of music you want to play. If you want to play rock music, find your favorite bands in rock and listen to them all the time. This will teach you what to expect from that style of music. Maybe you even like the beats that a certain college marching band plays.

While skills like sight reading can consciously be improved and studied, the instinct that allows for so much precision is much harder to hone in on. Make no mistake, this kind of reflexive action is what makes great musicians so adept.

Once you've internalized the style, you'll begin to know what fills to imitate when you start getting good. Imitation will soon become creative improvisation as you play the set longer.

Sometimes, when high school graduates look at the actual figures of how much tuition is for their desired school, they become very disappointed. They know that they cannot afford to pay for school and they are disheartened.

Whether it is doing exercises or working on a particular piece, this kind of repetition is what will guide success in this area. At this point in time, it may be helpful to look to the way that the brain functions as people are engaging in activities.

The sticking slows your transition down and limits the speed in which you can run triplets down your toms. When drumming Jazz, you can't afford to be slowed by anything but the speed of your imagination.

Luckily, there's a variant on a simple rudiment that can help you out in this situation: a paradiddle. When you understand how it works, you can see the usefulness of playing two beats with the same hand.

That is why people who stop playing the drums for a couple of weeks are going to have a harder time getting back to their skill level, and why they need to warm up for longer periods of time. It is all about the reflexive recall that the brain is able to make in connection with the activity.

Practice them until you can play them in time. Play them loud. Play them soft. Play them on every surface of the set. Start moving your hands around while playing them to try different combinations. Play them until you've ingrained the feeling and sound into your mind so much that they become natural.

If you want to start marketing yourself for an athletic scholarship, you will need to review the kinds of divisions that exist within college athletics. Within the National Collegiate Athletic Association, there are 3 divisions that teams can be assigned to.

There are many colleges that have major music and drumming programs. If you are interested in enrolling in a college drumming program, all you have to do is look around and see what colleges have the best programs.

While becoming a talented drummer requires talent and skill, it also requires determination, focus, and effort. If you believe that you have what it takes to become a star drummer, then you can do it if you set your mind to it.
