So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Tips For Safe Towing Of A Trailer

By Robbie Whiteman

The most cost effective way of moving is just to tow your household items on your own. However, many people do not always explore this option despite the fact that it is the cheapest due to lack of knowledge on safe towing of a trailer. It is also advisable not to try caravan hauling if you are not comfortable with it as you may end up causing accident. Here are a few guidelines for safe towing.

Hauling is usually affected by weather condition especially rain. This is because the road becomes slippery during the rainy seasons and with the heavy load behind, the possibility of swerving is very high. Because of this, you should not tow after heavy rains. If it happens to rain while you are hauling, it is advisable to stop it.

You should also understand the pulling capacity of your car or pickup. The law always allows you to tow up to 1.5 times the kerb mass of your pickup. However, some cars do not have the capacity to pull this maximum allowed mass. So you should check the manufacturers recommended pulling mass. This will also ensure that you do not over work your car or pickup depending on the one you use.

You should also be very careful when approaching corners. Do not approach a corner like you would do while driving your car without a caravan attached to it. Remember to take wide corners. There is always a possibility of colliding with the electric posts and buildings if you take short corners. So you need to approach from the outside lane.

You must also be mindful of other road users behind you as well. Because of your slower acceleration, there will definitely be lines of cars behind you. If you notice it, it is advisable to act accordingly. Pull by the road side and let them over take. You can also take the advantage of climbing lanes where they are available so that you do not have to inconvenience many road users.

Before venturing into the mission, you must also ensure that the car you intend to use as well as the caravan itself are in good conditions. The tyres must be maintained to recommended pressure. They should also have good treads with no cracks.

By observing the above guidelines, you will definitely have a safe towing of a trailer or horse floats for sale. You must also make sure that the weight you are pulling is equally distributed in the caravan. This will ensure that it is well balance thus increasing its stability.
