So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

One Or Two Tips On Teeth Lightening

By Kristin Lettieri

When looking for teeth whitening systems you will find them sold in stores and administered in dental offices. Some are like toothpaste, very easy to apply. Others are more complex and require trays kept in place overnight and strips left on for various lengths of time.

The ideal candidate for these treatments will have no fillings, no gum disease and a yellow tone rather than a brown tone on each tooth. A polishing treatment similar to toothpaste does not contain any bleach. In the dental office, peroxide is used.

The in-home method that is applied like toothpaste lightens each tooth about one shade. The professional in dental office method can lighten about eight shades maximum. At the conclusion of the professional treatments the results last for four months on average. The procedure will have to be repeated at the end of four months.

When you use gel, it is applied each day for a two week period, using a small brush. The strips must be applied twice each day for the two week period. Strips are left in place for thirty minutes each time they are applied. Resulting lightening from both these methods will last for about four months.

It takes longer, three months, for the rinse to take effect. This is used briefly like a mouthwash. The method that uses a tray exposes the dental surface for longer periods of time. They can remain in place overnight or for a few hours during the day. Professional evaluation can determine what product is best.

Bleaching done by a dentist is the fastest and the results are dramatic even after one treatment. However, it is no more permanent than the other teeth whitening methods, which are used outside the dental practice.

If your dentist does the bleaching treatment, it is probably the most effective way, but, also can be the most expensive method to choose. You will see dramatic change even after the first application. It is not, however, more long-lasting than any of the methods used in the home.

Some products lighten, decrease sensitivity and strengthen the enamel surfaces at the same time. Professional supervision is beneficial in all cases.

Some good features to look for when choosing a procedure are how long it takes, how long the results last, will it desensitize and is it safe. It may be more costly to have a dentist perform the procedure, but, it is also the most effective way to do it. Second most advantageous is doing teeth whitening at home with supervision of a professional dentist.
